{ 2008 Itinerary }

We use the Indian Enfield 500cc bikes, (a great bike for the mountains), and we take a Jeep and a mechanic as a back up.

• Himalayan Tours:

This year we have added an extra day on the tours to allow us to see more of Ladakh!

Note, It is necessary to arrive at least 3 days early in Leh to allow your body to acclimatize to the high altitude. Leh is at 11,500 feet elevation. We have found that it takes about 3 days for the body to produce the extra red oxygen carrying cells that you need to feel comfortable at this altitude. Leh is a very interesting town and the extra time before the trip starts will be well worth it!
